CONNECTIONS
Self-Management Academy
A 9-month path to independence — so your student learns to manage time, tasks, and emotions, and you get to stop being the reminder.
Built for teens and young adults with ADHD, mild autism, or executive-function challenges. A real person teaches. The path will not let your student skip. You see progress without becoming the homework police.
Billed monthly · Cancel anytime · No 9-month contract · Florida Step Up accepted
If this is your house
Alarms, backpack checks, the 9 p.m. scramble. If you stop, the week falls apart. That is not a character flaw in your student. It is a missing skill set — and you have been filling the gap.
Planners, apps, a pep talk after every missing assignment. It works for three days. Weekly coaching that resets every Monday has the same leak: there is no path that refuses to be skipped.
The relationship is paying for the executive function. You want to be the parent again. Your student wants independence too. Neither of you has a structure that builds it.
You are not imagining it
“I can run the morning, or I have a relationship with my kid. I cannot keep doing both.”
The problem — not a review
“Another weekly Zoom that my student forgets, and I still have to stand over the planner.”
The problem — not a review
“I don’t need another app. I need my student to finish something without me in the room.”
The problem — not a review
These are not reviews. We do not have a wall of testimonials yet — and we will not write fake ones. Trust the structure: a 9-month path your student cannot skip, a BCBA who built it, named coaches on her team, and a first month you can walk away from.
Most EF programs sell you a person for 30–60 minutes. Then your student is alone with a planner again. We built a 9-month mastery sequence your student cannot skip, a parent view that stays out of the student player, real-life artifacts, and an optional 45-minute weekly lesson from a Carefree RBT supervised by a BCBA.
| Typical weekly coaching | This academy | |
|---|---|---|
| The week after the call | Your student is on their own | Missions stay locked until mastery |
| Who teaches | Whoever is on the Zoom | Same playbook. Coach or parent teaches first |
| Can they skip? | Yes — and they will | No. That is the point |
| What you see | A recap email, if you get one | A parent dashboard. Never the student player |
| What they keep | Notes from last Tuesday | Eight tools that outlast the year |
| Your job | Still the reminder app | See progress. Stop nagging the system |
How a week actually works
Not a video dump. The coach (or you) teaches first — then the week has a job.
Prompted practice and data until mastery. Guessing “done” does not count.
Missions stay locked. No hopping to the fun module.
Assigned practice leaves the screen and comes back as data.
The first 30 days
We will not promise a transformed teen in a month. We will tell you what should be true if you start.
Week 1
Your family account is on. Your student is on the first missions. You can see the dashboard. On Academy + Coach, the first live lesson happens this week.
Weeks 2–3
Practice until mastery. Real-life assignments leave the screen and come back as data. Your student cannot hop ahead. You will feel whether the week has a spine.
Day 30
You should not expect a new personality. You should expect a working structure and a clear picture of effort. If it is not the support your house needed, cancel before the next bill.
If day 30 does not look like a working week, cancel. You will not be billed again. No argument. No 9-month contract.
The 9-month journey
Strengths, patterns, and what actually gets in the way.
A direction your student chose — not one handed over.
The tools that make follow-through possible.
Plans that survive a real week.
Small daily reps that add up.
Name it, size it, and move again.
Ask for what you need, clearly.
Skills that travel outside the app.
A roadmap your student can keep using.
Mission board, daily quests, habit streaks, regulation tools. Progress your student can see — and cannot fake.
A clean view of only your children. Stay informed. Stop standing over the planner.
On the $239 plan: an RBT on our team, supervised by a BCBA. Your coach teaches the week and watches mastery.
Who is behind this
A BCBA is a clinician certified to teach skills that change how a week actually runs — not a tutor with a worksheet. Sarah directs this academy and supervises the coaches. Your student works with them live on video, from home, wherever you are.
Founder & Program Director
BCBA, M.Ed.
Sarah spent 13 years as a special education teacher before becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2022. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and her M.Ed. in Special Education from Penn State. She also holds certifications as a Teacher of the Deaf and in Exceptional Student Education.
She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education while leading Carefree. She has worked in schools, homes, clinics, and telehealth. That mix is why this academy is built the way it is: teach, practice to mastery, then use it in real life — not another open-ended check-in.

Because the thing that makes this work is not a wall of reviews. It is a path your student cannot skip, a BCBA who built and supervises it, and a monthly bill you can stop. Carefree already works with neurodivergent students. The Academy is the school-year, at-home version of that work. We will not invent testimonials. We will tell you what the first 30 days should look like, and you can leave if it is not a fit.
No. Educational coaching and structured skill practice — not treatment, diagnosis, or therapy.
A Carefree RBT on our clinical team, supervised by a BCBA. 45-minute weekly lesson. Not a substitute for ABA therapy.
No. Billed monthly. Cancel anytime — including after the first month. The 9-month path is the design of the program, not a contract. If it is not a fit, you stop. You will not be billed again.
Yes. Approved vendor. We invoice Step Up. Same $99 and $239 plans.
You create a family account. Each student gets a login. You only see your linked children.
$99 or $239, billed monthly. Cancel anytime — including after the first month. Card or Florida Step Up. Directed by a BCBA. Coached by our team, live on video.
Educational coaching and skill practice — not medical care or therapy.
