What ages do you accept?

  • Carefree Connections Academy serves students ages 7–16. Students are grouped based on age, developmental readiness, learning needs, and interests to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences.

    Who is a good fit for Carefree Connections Academy?

  • Our academy is designed for students who thrive in a personalized, relationship-centered learning environment. We welcome learners with diverse abilities, learning styles, and educational goals, including those who benefit from smaller class sizes, individualized instruction, hands-on learning, and executive functioning support.

    How are students grouped?

  • Students are placed in small learning communities based on age, developmental readiness, learning goals, and individual needs rather than strictly by grade level.

    What days are classes in session?

  • We run on a Monday - Thursday schedule, but follow the St. Johns County School District calendar for holidays and school breaks that fall on our instructional days (Monday through Thursday).

    What life skills do students learn?

  • Students develop practical skills such as communication, problem-solving, financial literacy, cooking, organization, self-advocacy, career exploration, and community participation to prepare for greater independence.

Do you offer support for executive functioning?

  • Yes. Executive functioning skills are intentionally woven throughout the school day. Students receive support with organization, planning, time management, task initiation, self-regulation, and self-advocacy.
